Rumours

Home  •

Amid turmoil in the band and a year of recording the Grammy award winning Rumours was released on February 4, 1977. Stevie contributed as with the 1975 Album two songs to the album. Dreams which focused on her breakup with Lindsey acting as an answer to his song Go Your Own Way is the band’s only # 1 single. She has recounted in numerous interviews that the song was written in 10 minutes during a day of recording the album on Sly Stallone’s bed at the studio. Another notable track is Gold Dust Woman which is about cocaine which the band is infamous for taking throughout their history. During concerts she will do what she calls her “crackhead” dance, the song being a fan favorite.Silver Springs another popular song was originally intended to be on Rumours but was removed at the last minute which angered Nicks. It would go on to be released in 1997 during The Dance, and was finally included on a remastered special edition of Rumours.
