Many do not know that Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckigham were not founding members of The Mac. The couple joined the band after an initial offer for Lindsey to join because of his guitar playing style & the band’s need for a guitarist. He would accept the offer only if Stevie was also allowed to join, upon accepting the 10th lineup of was Fleetwood Mac born. After 3 months of work on July 11, 1975 the Fleetwood Mac (White) Album was released. Three of the songs from Stevie & Lindsey originated prior to joining the band and were originally meant for a 2nd Buckingham Nicks album. Despite Crystal being a Nicks penned song it was performed by Buckingham and would not be recorded by her until many years later. Rhiannon, Monday Morning, and I’m So Afraid were also songs written & performed prior to joining the 1st song being a Mac concert mainstay.
